Pasadena Engagement | Herrianne and Allan

When Herrianne emailed me a few months back, she was inquiring about just doing an Engagement Session. Her and Allan are having a Hawaiian destination wedding and wanted to get some nice images here in LA. I’m always down for an engagement session, especially since they’re fun and laid back couple. We met for a consult over some coffee and got to know each other. Within a few days, I found myself booked not only for their engagement session, but also for their Hawaiian wedding in April. Awesome.

For their e-session we spent the day roaming around Pasadena looking for cool spots. Old Town Pasadena is full of alleys with great lighting and textures. We got kicked out of our first alley, but the rest of the day went smoothly. I actually don’t consider it a successful engagement session unless we get kicked out of at least one place ; ). I always encourage couples to bring personal items to showoff their personalities. Allan brought his motorcycle, which is honestly, one of the best personal props.

Herrianne and Allan are a great fun loving couple. I can’t wait to join them in Hawaii!

Pasadena Wedding Photographer | Kathleen and Lionel

Here are some images from Kathleen and Lionel’s big day. The ceremony was at the beautiful St. Andrew Church with the reception at The Westin Pasadena, just a few blocks away. It was only natural to take the bridal portraits at the scenic Pasadena City Hall. The city’s civic center has classic architecture with tons of opportunities for amazing angles. With a relatively inexpensive photography permit fee it was the perfect spot. The weather was a bit overcast, but ideal for evenly exposed portraits. No harsh sun light meant no harsh shadows. And of course comfortable temperatures for the bridal party.

I’ve known Kathleen for over 14 years and it was truly a pleasure to be able to capture her and Lionel’s most precious moments. Kimi is the sweetest girl and Lionel is just as thoughtful. These two are all smiles and it’s infectious. The day was filled with laughs, love, candy, an awesome LOST spoof, and lots of drinks! Everyone had a great time as they celebrated with the joyful couple. They had one of the most unique photo booths I’ve seen and the guests loved it. It was actually more like a photo diorama. The wedding was complete with it’s own online twitter account. Guests were able to tweet to @kathleen_lionel and send messages to the couple in real time. The Twitter page was shown on a big screen so everyone could follow the play by play. Of course, as the open bar and the night went on, the tweets got a little crazy. But hey, that’s the beauty of Twitter right? Everyone was literally a part of the action and sharing their happiness for Kathleen and Lionel.

Overall, a tremendous day for an incredible bride and groom. Welcome to the club guys!

Fantabulous February Facebook Photo Promo- Part I | Portraits

A friend and fellow photog Alfred Bertulfo had a great idea and asked me if I wanted to join the ride. I could not turn it down. Eight time slots, two locations, and a bunch of friends equals a mini photography marathon. It was a long day but well worth it. The best part of the day was spending time with each person as they brought their own stories and personalities to the shoot. I had sore feet but a great time. Thanks again to Alfred and everyone who participated and smiled for us!
