Some photos from last month’s Photog Shootout, which was one of the biggest ones yet. An entire day dedicated to capturing all aspects of a wedding day. As always it was great learning from so many great photogs, catching up with friends, and meeting new ones.

October SoCal Photog Shootout | Bridal Portraits | Los Angeles Wedding Photographer

Last week I attended my second SoCal Photog Shootout in San Clemente, CA. Once again I learned so much from the other photographers and met so many great people. This month’s theme was Trash the Dress, a style of wedding photography in which the elegant bride is photographed in contrasting, sometimes harsh settings where ultimately the wedding gown is destroyed. Sounds like fun right! The day started with a first round of “pre-trashed” bridal portraits allowing us to be able to get shots of the beautiful models in their lovely gowns before the madness. Below are the pics from the first round, all “pre-trashing”. On my next post I’ll have the actual “trashed” photos. So until then… enjoy!

SoCal Photog Shootout at Irvine Regional Park – High Fashion

50 photographers, 6 models, and 100+ degree weather. Couldn’t have asked for more! Well except for the weather part. We stayed hydrated and had lots of fun with these awesome models… who apparently don’t sweat (Amanda Shaw, Mark Laribee, Kaylie Wilson, Doug Franco, and David Liggett). This shootout’s theme was High Fashion. I had so much fun meeting and learning from the other photogs as well as trying out new techniques. It was a great first experience with the Socal Shootout Family, can’t wait for the next one!

Much love to the All Made Up Team (www.allmadeupteam.com) who did a great job with make-up and hair. Also a big thanks to Triple Scoop Music (www.triplescoopmusic.com) for their donations. And last but not least thanks to Matt Saville, Hanssie Trainor, Henry Wang, and Doug McNamee for bringing us all together and sharing their knowledge.
